How do people manage to take such crappy photos? It’s not as though there’s anything to conceal with these two watches, and I’m sure they look pretty good in the hand.
The Enicar was indeed a steal. You had to have that. I’m guessing the Record was about right, being gold, but with some issues.
It's funny, I'm pretty luke warm about records unless they have the swan and then I suddenly see them as terribly romantic - it's a bit like Dent and the triangle.. So yes, not as much of a bargain as I though
...and really a bit annoying as it's definitely closed the door to the Omega 565 which is my favourite movement. I always conflate the spot price and scrap price for gold.
Yes the kitchen's pretty well done. However, to be fair, it's a shared endeavour with the nice chap who has been all but living in the bloody house since March. As I said, I'm more of a competent dogsbody. I'll be glad to get back to work! Today was spent either moving rubbish, moving books or doing the wheel bearings on the Midas. I was going to hire a low loader, but my beloved told a friend that it was basically scrap that I didn't have the heart to sell, so I'll be driving it over there. Pointedly, the poor thing.

I suspect that the blued hands are not that blue though.
70m WR, sapphire, Sellita SW200-1, copper dial, 37mm.
Attachment 88403
So the specs(measured):
Dreyfuss & Co series 1925, no. 5047.
38mm wide without the crown, 11m thick, 46mm lug to lug.
Domed sapphire but not from the inside, very different look compared to double domed watches.
Signed screw down crown, ETA 2824 in a see through caseback, no decorations.
20mm lugs but curved springbars, the strap has a butterfly clasp with Dreyfuss logo stamped/carved but it's just 15mm wide, the strap feels very nice.
Very vintage vibe, not a manly mans watch because of the size and narrow strap and because the whole package is very very purdy.
The dial is copper but indoors in low light it looks salmon, contrast between copper dial and blued hands makes it very readable even in low light.
Yeah I'm in love.
*edit, the movement is not what others reported(Sellita or ETA) but....drumrolls...
Oh and the hands are actually black most of the time, you really need to try to get the light right to see the blue.

Which has it's drawbacks. I certainly won't think it as a 800€ watch as the price I paid is significantly lower.
Valanvron VAL-24 movement also cheapens the watch quite a bit?
