Not that many, and the Rover came as a three-door too. Too bulky for a three-door, in my opinion, and it was a proper four-seater.

Fond memories for me, when I worked briefly for a BL (JRT) dealer in the very late 70's , these were pretty much done by then but they still came in the garage from time to time.

    There were plenty of these

But there was also this fresh on the block:

The fabled 3500 was pretty much the same in all of them what a beautiful noise .....

    Don't do a RX8.

I dont know about over there but S2000s have been going up in value over here.

When I was 16, I wanted a turbo EG Civic and Triumph TR6. I have an EJ Civic but not turboed yet.

Alfa Romeo 4c competitor from Gordon Murray......

Alfa really ballsed up the 4c. Could have been so much better.

Can't wait to see this one.

2002 E39 530i, in gray or blue, with a 6 speed manual. I wanted it so badly. They are bargains now. Maybe when I have a little more excess cash and space, I’ll pick one up—or maybe even a 540i or M5.
E39s are nice cars. My buddy sold this last year.

    From the article:

"I'll tell you what it is. It's a Lotus Elise, but usable every day," Murray said. "You can get in and out. It's got a roof. It's got air-conditioning that works, sound system, sat nav, airbags..."

As a former Elise owner, them's fightin' words. Except that they're pretty much true. But also irrelevant.

I do wonder how challenging it will be for him to get US safety approval of such a small, light car. Unless he does what Lotus did with the Elise--get a five year low volume exemption, and then stop importing it.

It was always the Porsche Turbo 930 as my dream car as a teen.

More realistic would be the Datsun 280Z:

Or a bit later a Toyota Supra or Celica GTS:

    Current cars

2004 C5 Corvette with substantial upgrades including Z06 suspension and exhaust. Engine mods including head/port work, headers, cam and crank.

    P38 Rover for fun trips

    L322 for work [

My currently stored Classic (pre-air suspension)

Photo of late wife and I at Timberline. Old Classic is the one that took us on those adventures.

Current C7 purchased for because of a great deal and that I seldom get to see the C5 as my eldest daughter seems to like a lot.

I purchased this car 43 years ago for $3000. Still have it although it is on blocks and not driven.
