I like to see it - the motivation, the desire. Sadly, I think a lot of ideas that look and sound great at 12:01 on January 1st lose a bit of their luster when you're struggling to get up at 5:00 AM to get a morning run or swim in. Or saddling up to your glass of mineral water at the bar, while frosty pints of beer are being delivered to your friends.

It's just annoying when it's rammed with people who won't be there in a week. But, better than being rammed all the time. I like when people want to change what they don't like. But I abhor human weakness.

Haha, well yeah. I find that the typical gym seems to be designed and stocked to meet around 150% of average usage. Great when it's normally busy. But as soon as the ranks of gym goers swell to two times the average, it all gets nuts.

Not to mention that the twice or three times a year gym goers are usually also less likely to know how to use the machines or conform to gym etiquette (wiping things down, etc.). Still, if it gets more people in, or helps pay for a favorite gym to survive - I'll gladly put up with a couple weeks of chaos.

Did a bit of a 'mini' triathlon after work today. 1.2 km swim, 10 km spin cycle, 3 km run. No official distances, but it's good way to remember how weird legs feel going from biking to running…..

Still out due to back. But it's getting better. Another day or so and I'll hopefully be back to normal. Signed up for swimming/running clubs. Also signing up for yoga. I'm fairly fit, but it's time to get serious (especially about my (lack of) flexibility). Aiming for a half marathon this spring (already did a full a while back; don't have time to train properly for that now). Wouldn't mind trying a sprint triathlon this fall. We shall see how things progress.
