I can’t be bothered with phones when I’m driving so have never linked a phone to a car. I’ve also never walked down the street apparently talking into thin air, and find it a bit weird when I see others doing it. I have heated seats but never use them. I use the built-in sat-nav, parking sensors and cruise control - and that’s it. I have about a thousand albums on a memory stick for car music (and no music on my phone). I have never used Siri. I delete FaceTime so that nobody can make me use it. I’ve never taken a selfie or photographed food. I don’t like connected things, really, and I don’t like being plugged into things. One exception, though - I like it that my phone and iPad keep each other updated.

Oh, and I hardly ever click on links that mean I have to watch a video.

That you have a phone, an Ipad, probably text and post on on-line forums takes you out of the curmudgeon category. A true curmudgeon might have a cell phone (Since in many cases home phones are not really cost effective anymore, or their son pays for it) but doesn't use it as anything but the phone function even though it is more than capable of that. They don't text and don't have internet, cable/sat tv.... I'm describing someone I know who is a true curmudgeon.

Mine will parallel park or straight in park for you, and un-park itself too. Not that I’m likely to do any of that, curmudgeon that I am. Apparently, from looking at the manual, you can also have the car park itself through its app on your phone—when you’re not in the car. I can’t find the setting for that in the car itself, so I suspect that feature isn’t available in the litigious U.S. Just as well, as I’d be tempted to try it just for the hell of it.

No, a true curmudgeon would have a cell phone and only use the phone function............................. but it would be a early flip phone(or just a similar vintage) with a 1.5 inch diagonal screen, and they'd fully turn it off between use.

The sort of phone when texting you'd get five while words on screen at once.

My friend’s Tesla 3 does it from the phone currently. He sent me a video of it parking itself in his garage.

The one thing that I did not like is ApplePlay on my truck does not work wireless and you must use the apple cable that came with the phone(or an actual apple cable not a 3rd party). I had a Hyundai rental car last year that the ApplePlay worked wirelessly. Luckily the truck has a rubber lined area in front of the shifter for the phone to rest in.

TBF (as Geoff would say), they did spend a fair amount of time with us going over the features, but still...And yes wireless make much more sense.

Now for something a little different. My son has a box car race at school on Friday. He wanted a Luigi Mario Kart looking one. Took a couple of days and several cans of paint.

Need to add the car # and carry straps. They wear them and run around Fred Flinstone style.
