Big push by the crafters here for high test beers as well. I'm generally not a fan, too much booze tends to make beer too cloying for my taste. Sky-high IBU IPAs have been beaten to death so I guess high ABV is the next bandwagon. We're in a new golden age of beer for sure, but that naturally comes with a lot of chaff to separate from the wheat.
Good brewers can figure it out so 8m not being dismissive completely. There are a few in my area that are making higher abv beers and hiding the booze well in enjoyable flavours.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.
