Nah compared the the audi v8

Ah. I’m going to drive the Merc again today (weather permitting) for comparison, but they are very similar in feel. Basically identical on 0-60 times, and the 48v system in the Merc equalizes any advantage the Audi’s V8 might have had.

Their finance guy (young!) was wearing a Hulk, and noticed my Lange, which set him off (in a good way). He's a watch guy, has another '90's Sub that was his father's, and some other nice stuff (Breitling, Panerai, etc.) We had a nice chat. His eyes got a little wide when I described some of my collection...

Ha! Too late, I’d already cut my deal before I got to him.

I’ve been researching and thinking for a year, but at the end of the day, when I drove it, the choice was easy. The S7 was nice, but not as refined and modern, and didn’t perform better. I ruled out another Panamera due to cost—they’re just getting more and more expensive, and it didn’t justify the price differential. I also like the clean lines of the new CLS, they did away with a lot of the weird flares, etc., that were on the old model.

The tech on this thing is crazy—some extremely cool, some over the top silly. Example of the former—there is a new app for the car, and it has the usual features like remote start, ability to lock the car, etc. But, if you valet your car, it has a Ferris Bueller feature—you can set a radius around where you are and if the valet drives it outside that radius, you’ll get an alert on your phone.

On the silly side, the entire cockpit is arrayed with leds. There are 64 color choices and up to five zones that you can have different colors for, including a dynamic mode that will randomly vary the colors like in a party limo. Also the vent leds (which can have their own color) will temporarily turn either red or blue when you increase or decrease the cabin temperature. Who thinks of these things?
