I’m currently at the DMV. Or DOT as they call it here. I just saw a thing that says “payment in check or money order only”. I renewed my license online, but if there’s another charge, uh, I don’t have my checkbook and I don’t really know how to get a money order. I guess you go to a bank?

Plus, this whole thing is made more complicated by the fact that I don’t have and can’t receive my camera card because my home address is an occupied territory in dispute with the township and doesn’t receive mail because there’s no mailbox.

Also, the DMV says there are 18 people ahead of me. My number is 20 from the currently being served. And it’s an alphanumeric. C541. And there are multiple letters being used. I don’t know how this math is supposed to work.

About having no mailbox—we once lived in the first home in a new development, and UPS could not (or would not) find us. So they mailed us a postcard saying they couldn’t deliver to us because we didn’t have a valid mailing address.

Our mailbox got taken out by a snow plow (to put this in perspective, winter was a long time ago and it was not 2018 when this happened), and my father will not allow a new mailbox to be installed until the municipality does....something. He’s terribly unclear in his demands.
