Well not specifically - it's sold as high protein bodybuilding food. Just happens not to perish, apparently.

Idk man, it started as a round of golf with a friend (on a dewy drizzly morning where we had the whole place to ourselves Name: dew golf.jpg

I thought I was maybe getting a bunch of weed but they were just shishito peppers from his garden. Then before I get home I drop something off for my wife and her friends husband forces that telltale pink butchers paper into my hands, a weighty little package he says are his homemade 'bangers'.

I figure putting a fried egg on whatever you make always puts you in the clear.

Way, way too long since I last had this breakfast.

For me: Bacon and egg fried rice with fermented chile oil, all house made. This was washed down with a large bottle of Blanche de Chambly, a wit bier on lees.

Mrs. K chose the Kung Pao chicken and Hong Kong waffle with Szechaun peppercorn syrup. She drank prosecco.

Scallion cakes followed by wonton soup. The secret to scallion cakes is lard. Lots and lots of lard. The broth for the wonton soup is a roast chicken carcass, dried kelp, turnip, green chile and scallion with szechaun peppercorns and more.

Thanks. It was pretty good. I think these were the best scallion cakes I've yet made. It was also the first time I've done a black vinegar sauce for them.
