i am eyeballing a new civic type R

I've spent a bit of time in a few Honda dealers here over the past few weeks. I'm considering a Ridgeline as a second vehicle. Here dealers have a second sticker on the vehicles where they add dealer installed options so the new price is posted to show these add ons. The Civic Type R has no options, but in the six Honda dealers I've been in these have a line item marked as Market Adjustment with a $10,000 price tag on the second sticker. So now the $35K car is now a $45K car. Never would I pay this. Kind of explains why the same cars have been at the dealers for a few months now. Here is where a few car dealers could learn a thing or two from Rolex. Even if your going to limit it at least honor your retail price.

I remember this happened with the intro of the Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S (Now Toyota 86). A ton of people paid $10k+ over just to be the first on the block to have one. Within a few weeks they were MSRP (and not all dealers marked up). There were waitlists, pre-orders, and deposits for that car at launch. Now, not so much...

I have a quote in from Honda today for the type R GT. This is the second trimlevel, we have the regular typeR and the type R GT. I asked for spaghetti exhaust collector, sportcat, stage 2 chip, Remus exhoust with bluetooth controlled valves and K&N airfilter. It should give the car +/- 380hp, but at 45.780€ i will not buy it. If they asked 15k less i would do it, but now it's priced like a Golf r Abt, Bmw 140i, Focus RS, and so on. It's just too much for a fwd imo. I sold my BMW i3 for 30k, so i have enough to buy what i like, but i'm also looking at used Porsches Cayman (for the flat six) and other sporty cars. It's just a gadget for fun to me cos i live in the city center where a car is a burden...

Here there is only one Type R which has every option available and is rated at 305hp. That is pretty impressive if that can yield 75 more HP. Here except for special key encoded performance limits, modifications are taboo and not dealer endorsed. Now on my Jag I was able to use the few parts (Pulleys) and code flash (from the factory) for the S to get it up to the S type power output and stay in warranty. The dealer did the work so I knew it was sanctioned.

Here in the several publications, the Type R has bested everything on your list (Except I don't believe the BMW is sold here). So don't discount it because it is front wheel drive only.

they are rated 320hp over here but the dealer told me that they dynod 4 cars and they all went over 340hp! The GT is mechanical the same but has a higher level of features in the car and carbonfiber parts (front splitter, rear difusor, wing, mirrors etc.). In all black the car is really badass and sinister looking in my opintion but it's a kinda antisocial look where i live My family might think i went bonkers when i buy a car with a wing
