My car (a Mercedes C-Class estate) has two batteries - a small one under the bonnet and a big one under the load area. I’m not sure how common that is these days.

By the way, I’ve never had a problem with ‘take-off’ with stop-start - even pulling away from ‘problem’ junctions when you want to move off sharpish. Off to on is near-instantaneous.

‘The smaller one is the aux battery and is there to keep computer systems (main system and sat nav etc) from dropping out (and inadvertently rebooting) during the dip in main battery voltage during stop-start restarts.
Sometimes it’s not an actual battery but a capacitor stack apparently , same purpose though.

Depends. Do you have a full-time mechanic on your staff to take care of the Ferrari, and do you actually want to have it available to drive consistently? If the answers are “yes” and “no” respectively, then the second one.

Attacked the broken exhaust manifold on the old truck yesterday. A few studs/bolts scared me but they all came out with just a dousing with PB Blaster.

Doesn’t matter; the 250GT California is one of the most beautiful cars in history. The Shelby is one of the coolest cars, sure, but cool isn’t always beautiful. And true beauty is a rare thing in this world. As for the mechanic issue, well, all art is suffering.
