I really need to make them. Seems easy enough and they never disappoint.

Dead easy. Hard boil, slice in half, extract the yolk, mix with mayo, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin and thinly slides spring options (scallions) (all incredients optional), then put back in the white and munch. Takes 10 mins.

In what universe does it take ten minutes to do proper HBE’s?

Mayo and crushed garlic is all I use.

Tried my hand at plaited bread. Eight strands. Probably two more than I could really handle. Despite the look, it was quite tasty. The solitary piece was one that was too long, but I hate to throw anything away and baked it just the same. Next one will look 100% better.

That certainly sounds like more than 10 minutes, if you include the boiling and shelling time. But if you don't, I can see it.

Do you replace the mixture with a pastry bag or do you just use a spoon?

Barring the nutmeg which I forgot for the photo but not for the recipe, and the oil and vinegar which I chose to leave out of the pic...jerk!
