Our next fruit tree in line to ripen is the apricot. Relatively good rainfall this winter left it with a really good crop. I'm racing to stay ahead of the squirrels, though. The little bastards bite open the fruits when they are still green, in order to get at the almond-shaped seed inside the pit. The seed contains cyanide, but not enough to hurt them (unfortunately?) The Santa Clara Valley has a 250 year tradition of growing pit fruits going back to Spanish times. The Blenheim apricot is considered the very best for drying, because of its high acidity, firmness and free-stone pit. Living in an overcrowded and quickly urbanizing region, I treasure our little back yard paradise.

Too many watches, not enough wrists.
Pizza Hut?
Went out to get this instead. Thought it would be good to get out of the house:
Beef tartare:
And then literally all the meats:
EDIT:
By memory, it was: Hungarian sausage, kielbasa. Lamb shoulder, pork shoulder, duck leg confit, spicy beef, sirloin steak (counterclockwise from the bottom left corner), as well as potatoes and heirloom carrots. Everything was delicious, especially the lamb and pork shoulders.

Put this into some chickens.
Put the chickens in the smoker.
Make these: Alabama white (mayo based), Carolina Gold (mustard based), and the black one (vinegar/ Worcestershire based) was originally made in parts of Kentucky.
Oh yes. BBQ.

Some instant noodles that the missus raved about. I think I've had one pot noodle in y life, and this was better. Cheap, quick and tasty, but no subtitle for, like, good food.![]()
