    Lucky.

I tried to teach my wife to drive manual in my modded A4...(Had a TT as well)... was a disaster. Good thing we were in an empty parking lot at night.

I'll try agin with the Miata if I get it (which is looking that way)...it's a fair bit easier than Audi and I think it has hill assist now. It's a bonus that she actually likes it. It shocked me. She doesn't care about cars at all.

As I mentioned to Raza above, I considered the 86, but did not test drive one. Not ruling it out, but unlikely. I think they are sharp looking...and RWD is a bonus.

I’m old-fashioned, and YouTube is largely a foreign land to me.

Incidentally, there was a great Jeff Beck documentary on BBC 4 last week. It showed glimpses of him building Hot Rods as well as covering his musical career. Bit of a hero for me, Jeff Beck. They’d probably get on well together, Edd China and Jeff Beck.

Looks like it's an online-only pilot episode hoping to be picked up by a TV network. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm sure it will be entertaining. Best of both worlds as I have been enjoying Wheeler Dealers with Ant but still missed Edd's more eccentric approach to cars.

Alan, if you have a fairly new 'smart TV' it probably has a YouTube app that will let you watch this on the big screen instead of a computer.

No, nothing like that. It's about five years old and was chosen on the basis of being cheap.

I could connect things to it but like TVs to be standalone things in the corner.

    The cars and bikes thread!

In a somewhat crazy turn of events, my wife just sent this picture to me over lunch.

She met her dad for lunch and he was excited to show off his new car. I just told me wife a week ago that her dad should get a new 911. He’s had two in the past and has been without car (non-SUV) since he traded in his S8 a year or so ago. At least this gives me a nice chance to get up close and personal with a Targa.

He clearly listens to you! Should've told him to get YOU a new 911...

Motorbikes accessories and tools are expensive and addictive. I've bought crash bungs, aftermarket levers, a tail tidy, a paddocks stand, crash bobbins, torque wrench, breaker bar, chain cleaner tool, now I'm thinking of an auto chain oiler, new exhaust, led blinders, rizoma bar end mirrors...

Doh! I screwed that one up! 🤦*♂️

He’s a very generous fellow. The first time my wife took me to his house, he tossed me the keys to his 911 after she told him I loved Porsches. That was probably the second time I ever met him.

I’ve driven nearly every other car he has had since then.
