Quite cool, but I wouldn't spend 50k on it - it only has 250 bhp. I'd get a porsche.

With no manual, I wouldn't even consider the Renault.

As I do 100 miles a day I'm considering an auto. But, for a weekend toy of course if would be manual. But if I had that as my only car... Tough one.

The way I’ve always seen it is that you should enjoy the car you’ve got to drive everyday. I just couldn’t enjoy 100 miles a day in an auto. I’ve done it—in both an auto and a manual. And I’d take a manual every time, no matter how bad the traffic. I find it actually easier to deal with in traffic, as long as the clutch isn’t too heavy. Might be a burden in a vintage 911, but in a modern car, the clutch is easy enough to handle, even on German cars, which typically have heavier clutches than Japanese cars.

Life is too short to only enjoy the weekends.

A motorised sofa and a decent stereo, that’s what you want for your twice-daily trip.
