Flatiron steak with rosemary gremolata, smashed oven roast baby potatoes and more asparagus. The flatiron steak was apparently only created in this century. The fact that it has the flavour of a working muscle but is really pretty tender, except for the ribbon of gristle, when cooked to rare makes it a winner for Mrs. K and I.

Doing too many things. Overcooked the salmon. The gnocchi was delicious though.

I know one should chop, dice, grate everything in advance then put it in ramekins and toss into the mix in turn like TV chefs to avoid such issues, but I just feel that wastes time when you could do it in order.

I often do my prep first, but not always. The gnocchi has about a half a million steps, none hard, so why waste time standing around, right? I usually still manage to keep an eye on the protein though.

So hungry forgot to take a nice staged pic (I've been slacking of late, I know). My favourite hybrid ready meal - mushroom ravioli. I say hybrid because I 'pimp it' (we've used this saying for ages) with fried onions, garlic, mushrooms and toasted pine nuts. So a bit of prep, bit I can't make ravioli this good, or rather I haven't tried hard enough yet. Tastes great. Name: 20180314_195412.jpg

    Bistecca alla Toscana

Today the meat was cooled perfectly, medium well on most parts, not too bloody (I'm afraid to eat meat that's too raw in my country...)

Wifey whipped a batch of cookies for desert made from snickers. Looks like an anguished alien, or optimus prime. Name: 20180318_182121.jpg

That is significantly larger than average, but they grow them mighty big out here. The problem with them when they get truly huge is that they aren't very good. They get woody and coarse and dry.

Is that what you call zucchini over there or are courgettes a different thing?
