I wish the Golf R had a sunroof. I wouldn’t even consider anything else for my next car if that were the case. What a stupid omission.

And if the S4 were manual, I’d just officially take it over from my brother. It’s a hot car.

Thoughts on the Mini Cooper S or the JCW version? I've decided to definitely sell back the Audi TDI to VW. My wife wants to get a boring Honda Civic or Accord. I think the new Civic is about the ugliest car I've seen. I know the mini is super dorky, but it looks like a lot of fun, and life's too short to drive boring cars.

Want to keep it in the $30K range, maybe a bit over if the JCW is worth it. If I start going too much higher, I'll end up with a Porsche and probably a divorce

If you’re going for an older Mini model, then I love them, but they can be unreliable. I don’t think the current not-actually-mini Minis do anything to differentiate themselves from the Golf GTI, which is probably the best overall car to be had for around $30K.

Most modern cars when you open a window or sunroof at highway speed the cars get this booming noise in them 9Unless they have a ragtop). The only thing I have been in in the past ten years that didn't do it was a Porsche Cayenne. So sunroofs have become sort of useless in my book. My wife's QX30 has the glass roof with the power shade but nothing opens up. Seems like a better option with no Boom.
    Cheers,

    Michael

There’s the wind, but for me, a big factor is the light. Without a sunroof, the interiors of cars can feel so dark and gloomy. Remember, for the past 4 years, I’ve driven a convertible year round, with the top down most of the time, even in this climate. Light and sun and wind even are important to me.
