Oh, right. I had something amazing last night.

A strawberry lavender doughnut with a glass of grass fed whole milk. I also had a cinnamon sugar doughnut, and while that was great, the star of the show was the strawberry lavender. They were from a place called Federal Donuts, which specializes in gourmet doughnuts and fried chicken. The doughnuts are usually made to order outside of peak times. They make cake doughnuts, not yeast. I'm usually a yeast doughnut kind of guy, not a cake guy, and in the past I haven't been a big fan of Federal's doughnuts. But the strawberry lavender, washed down with that grass fed whole milk was sublime.

Snacks for this weeks sessions. One protein bar in four hours doesn't cut it.
    Cranberry pear turnovers.
Some chevre or brie would be good in them but gotta keep cheese to bare minimum.

There was a strawberry lavender doughnut and one glass of milk left.

I don't know how I feel about the cake part of that doughnut, but the strawberry lavender part gets two thumbs up.

I'm not a big fan of cake doughnuts in general; I prefer the light and fluffy yeast doughnuts to the cake ones. Two doughnuts and a glass of milk at 5 o'clock and I didn't eat dinner, it was so filling. Also, when fresh, cake doughnuts feel like they hold on to more of the oil, making them kind of greasy feeling on the inside. Might be that it's something else, but it's not the best feeling. Next day, though, they taste great.
