In grad school, the lab next door did Drosophila genetics. "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana" was their motto.
Their flies would frequently get out and infest other labs (beware if you kept fruit in your drawer). The threat of bug spray would always get the 'fly guys' upping their fly security.
