I miss katsu. And Japanese curry. And smoking everywhere, all the time, for like $4 a pack.

We have restaurants that serve nothing but dumplings.

Did you have any soup dumplings? As in dumplings filled with soup, not dumplings in soup.

Char siu and egg fried rice. The combination of the sticky sweet pork, szechuan pepper and the horseradishy/wasabi like Chinese cabbage may have made the best fried rice I've yet made. The char siu marinade was pretty wonderful too.

I love char siu. It was popular in the 1950s-60s then disappeared. I started making it a couple of years ago after finding a decent recipe online.
My only problem is waiting for the marinade time.

This too served mostly dumplings. It's called 'ping pong dim sum'. But they had a few other things too. I didn't have soupy ones though, no.

If you eat somewhere that has soup ones you should try them. They are fun.
