Nice win from City. Hazard still is not up to full song and with Morata going down, there was nothing left up front. Not sure what's happened to Cesc either, as he looks to be a shell of the player he was last year. Good time for the break as the squad was looking a bit threadbare.
Bringing in Willian for Morata lost the game for Chelsea. With a real striker up top, they still had a chance on the counter.

He is trash. And he managed a 6.7 on Whoscored. Coutinho man of the match, of course.

Yeah, Conte clearly has no confidence in Batshuayi. To some degree it's warranted as the kid has put in some poor performances against good competition. But with his game winner in the CL midweek, this seemed like a perfect time to give him a chance and see if he could accomplish something. Willian has not been the same since his mother died, and at his age, I have to wonder if he'll ever regain the form he had a few seasons ago. You used to see him popping up all over the pitch making plays offensively and defensively, but now you rarely notice that he's in the game.

Look just cause he didn't shine at Liverpool doesn't make him a trash player. He is quite a good player as long as he keeps his head and plenty of pundits agree (including Souness). He wasn't man of the match for me because I think he gave Coutinho to much room on the goal. But otherwise he was quite good.

Lascelles and Yedlin were the best players on the field IMO.

Yeah, the Batshuayi issue is one of the problems leftover from the summer window. Trust me, as a Liverpool supporter, I know all about leftover problems. I mean, it's not like Fernando "still not as good as Peter Crouch is now" Llorente would have been the solution either. But bringing in Bats over William was the clear choice to make.

Yup - right on the money.

For the moment, you guys are really fortunate to have Rafa Benitez.

If you ignore all of his shortcomings, he's half decent. But it's quite a thing to ignore. He produces three or four moments of brilliance every season and the rest of the time he's either a red card threat or not really in the game. That's not what I call a good player.

Sadio Mane out for 6 weeks with injury picked up playing for Senegal.

    Game over man, game over
