Well, he and Mata seem to be getting on fine now. And United is still sniffing around Matic, who Jose once humiliated by subbing him at the half and then yanking him back off at the 76th minute. I guess money cures all ills as far as the players are concerned, and Mourinho has a short memory for his own mistakes.

I have to say that while the striker situation at Chelsea has me concerned, I'm feeling better about Lukaku going to United. I'm not a big fan of Pogba and his endless self-promotion on social media, and it seems that Lukaku is following in his footsteps. He's facing a court date in LA for public disturbance and has been hanging around with Odell Beckham Jr. He's a talented American footballer who seemingly cares more about his social media image than his team's success on the field. He caused quite a stir last fall when after making the playoffs, he took a group of teammates to Miami and rented a party boat in the days leading up to the game. Of course they splashed their antics on social media, and predictably, their team was destroyed and OBJ played terribly. No doubt his coaches and teammates were not amused at having to spend all week answering questions about parties on boats rather than football. Pogba seems to do a better job keeping his publicity machine separate from his play on the field, but if this is the path Lukaku wants to take, United can have him. After years of endless Costa nonsense, it would be nice to have a striker who is known for scoring goals and nothing more.

Aw man, don't rag on Odell Beckham. I don't even follow the NFL closely, but after that Lena Dunham fiasco, he became my favorite player.

And unless I missed it, scout Bob Bishop's telegram to Matt Busby about the 15-year-old Best was missing: "I think I've found you a genius.”

A small thing, but you have to have that.

But it's still a worthwhile film. There was once a 'Best Night' on the BBC - six hours of George Best, because that's what it takes to be anywhere near comprehensive.

i met George Best on numerous occasions -the first time when he was 17 - he was playing on a snooker table by himself at Royal Lytham Golf Club -the rest of the team were playing golf -he didn't play golf so was killing time !!!in those days teams didn't go abroad for a few days break -the northern top teams went to Blackpool to train on the beach - most other times he was in a nightclub in Manchester surrounded by awestruck young ladies the legendary Stanley Mathews used to run in the same sandhills in the deep sand to give him the acceleration he used to pass fullbacks with ease -also the triple Aintree winner Red Rum used to run the beach just up the road in Southport -salt water was a great for his legs -sorry i digressed!

He's been in California for a while now on summer vacation, even back when he was supposed to be heading to Chelsea. Rich people partying in LA is nothing new, and that's where his buddy Pogba was. The even had time to film this totally spontaneous contract reveal...

I guess I'm far too old to care about such crap but my teenage boys think this sort of thing is cool.

Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50m. Sure to follow in the footsteps of other flopping big money English City signings like John Stones and Raheem "I'll keep trying to nutmeg" Sterling. What is Guardiola doing?

Liverpool have accepted a £5m bid from Lazio for Lucas Leiva, hard worker, but always not quite good enough, been a good servant though

That match was getting a bit chippy. I didn't watch the second half, but surprised US didn't score more.
