Bao buns again today. This time with chuck (beer-braised and shredded), pickled turnip, cilantro and spring onions.

Went to a castle for dinner for the inlaws' 40th wedding anniversary. They have a no photography policy which, you know what, despite my investment in this thread, I kinda like.

I had the pork and lamb, and couldn't manage a dessert so had scotch. Truly superb food - nice wine, really rather expensive but it was in a castle from c 1103 so I'm happy to pay that. Service was great - I was worried it may be stuffy, but the guys were really cool.

    Great meal.

Sweat bread?! That is pretty darn pitiful that there are mistakes on the menu.

Wouldn't touch sweat bread. Sweetbread, on the other hand, can be quite tasty if prepped properly, cooked, and splashed with something like a good chimi churri!

Smoked Arctic char for breakfast with Old Bay potatoes. Not shown: grilled asparagus, lychee mimosa(s).

The floral mimosas were incredible with the oily' salty char.

Not shown: unagi roll, tempura shrimp, tempura veg, miso soup. Mrs.K and I ate it all except for a couple of pieces.
