I've seen this now - it was on the BBC last night. It's a pretty good summary of his life, put together with some care. Naturally, it's mostly concerned with his celebrity and descent into alcoholism. It doesn't really demonstrate the how and why of his extraordinary ability, but that's not easy with the limited clips available. There could also have been a bit more of his intelligent and reflective side. His later years are dispatched pretty quickly.
Worth a look though, for those who didn't grow up with George Best. My eyes watered a few times, as they often do when George Best is on the screen.
Thanks for the update. I'll definitely give it a watch when it's available in the US. Actually for us Americans there is an ESPN special on Best, premiering July 20th:

I don't think it's the same film, but the 30 for 30 series are generally very well done documentaries.
Yup!
On reflection, the film doesn't fully capture the man, but it does a pretty good job. Best's charm, cheek and humour is present, but only in flashes. There are some good quality football clips not included.
And unless I missed it, scout Bob Bishop's telegram to Matt Busby about the 15-year-old Best was missing: "I think I've found you a genius.”
A small thing, but you have to have that.
But it's still a worthwhile film. There was once a 'Best Night' on the BBC - six hours of George Best, because that's what it takes to be anywhere near comprehensive.
