Good food people. I had a bbq yesterday - first of the year I think. Just burgers and sausages. No photos.

I'm getting ready to go around the corner to our park and grill around 200 burgers and hot dogs for our neighborhood. As president of our neighborhood association I have no privileges and only this basic duty: to make excuses for people to get to know each other. Wish me luck!

Good luck. Somehow for my birthday I always have to grill something for 50. That's bad enough.

Thanks! Phew. I smell like grill splatter.
Well, that's done, now just a Leetle Beeta Cleenupppp.
(No, make that a Lotta Beeta Cleeenuppp.)

    Total cooked:
    88 - 1/3 lb hamburgers (mostly cheeseburger)
    22 - salmon burger
    20 - chicken burger
    7 - vegan burger
    62- hot dogs

I bought very close to the right amount - only 12 hamburgers left, 14 salmon burgers (I hid them a bit so we could keep some leftovers, they're a favorite here), 10 hot dogs and a couple bags of buns. Happily I got rid of all the vegan burgers purchased last time I did this - they really don't taste very good. I was trying to find the black bean variety, but Costco was out of them today. These "superfood Vegan" things are sorta gross. I have no problem making vegetarian things, but I prefer to make them from scratch so they actually taste good.

Same here. A good vegetarian burgers do exist, but I have never yet bought one. We make a couple of versions ourselves.

Bucatini is the one with the hole down the middle, isn't it? How do you pull that off?
