You don't need FWD or AWD for the snow we generally get in this region. A RWD car with performance snows is plenty. My daily and snow car was an E63 wagon for several years. I ran 19s in the summer and factory 18s with Blizzak LM60s in the winter. Other than snow piled higher than the bumper, it was unstoppable with 507hp and RWD.

I live on the top of a very steep hill and a private drive. Never any issues with the AMG Benz.

I'm really in love with the looks, can't wait to drive one. Like you, I'll keep my enthusiasm in my wallet until they've worked out all the bugs.

Ah schadenfreude at its best. Almost as good as these clips is when you see one of these knuckleheads popped by the police. We traveled to the mountains last weekend and when we were on the way home, a fool in a Carrera GTS was slicing through traffic on the freeway. I was going over 80 just to keep up with the flow and he passed me like I was standing still. 10 minutes later we saw blue lights and he was pulled over on the side of the road. I have no doubt that everyone passing by was having a great laugh at his expense.

    They're features....not bugs.

This....most people don't realize how important tires and good driving technique is when it comes to driving on the roads in snow.

Other than how that front end looks in the last pic, I like this car. It's being reviewed a lot by car mags and I definitely plan to test drive one
W.r.t manual trans not being available, I heard it was due to crash ratings? Something along the lines that the clutch doesn't depress, so in a front/side crash it can cut through the left foot..

I never cared for the Alfa triangle nose much, but I could live with it.

Not sure if anyone remembers an old video game, Need for Speed, but this brought back memories.
