Well, it's not upside down. Does that constitute a draw in your ongoing battle?

We usually cook a rib roast for Christmas, but this year we just went out for pizza.

I would air dry the roast for at least a week beforehand.

    No mimolette?

    Very nice selection.

I love cheese, unfortunately where I live now we have a very limited selection.
Stuff like Kraft slices, Velveeta, and for those very special occasions, Cheese-Whiz.

    Cheese fondue later today.

At the moment and for no good reason beyond lingering holiday brain I am making golden syrup. I need some for some hot sauce ginger cookies I planned to make.

I am at this moment eating leftover cranberry/Orange French toast with homemade cranberry syrup.

Wanted to go non-traditional this year and disregarded turkey.

Brined a lamb leg (flew by the seat of my pants and came up with a great lamb brine), coated it liberally in my scratch curry paste and cooked it to a berfect medium on the BBQ. Made a lovely mint and garlic yogurt sauce to go with it. Also sugar glazed a spiral ham as there were young kids and the lamb is obviously a more mature taste. With it I served duck fat potatoes (maybe my favourite potatoes?) And buttered French beans with toasted almond slivers. Did an edamame and cranberry cold salad with feta and citrus vinaigrette to round it out.

Was way to hectic yesterday to consider any pictures, apologies. But it was enjoyed by all.

    Merry Christmas,
It is now my duty to completely drain you.
