First is hunter movement in an open face case, second and more telling is the additional case screw marks, hunter cases in 16 size are hard to find and always cost more compared to an OF so this is seen a lot on watches that got a lot of use or watches that were cased in solid gold cases, case was scrapped for the gold and movement recased in what was available.

Thanks.
This would have gotten a lot of use. My wife's grandfather was a dirt farmer. As a matter of fact, this case has seen a lot of use.

Beautiful pocket watch with great story. You are a very talented person too. That painting of the movement is gorgeous(and so are they other ones). I first thought it was a picture on which you had added some filters. Well done!
Thanks for sharing

Love these old pocket watches. Built to last with craftsmanship. Your photos and painting give it the respect it deserves. Thanks for the story.

Thank you! And once again, thanks all.
I have a strong belief in using things, so while this no longer goes out into the fields everyday, it does sit in our den and is the sole timekeeping device in that room. Wound everyday and since it is only a 7 jewel movement, adjusted once a week or so.
