And the best burger I've ever had. No picture, but it looked like a burger. Nothing special - good local butcher, I squashed the patty down a little then put it on a blazing hot griddle. Was seasoned first with Jamie Oliver bbq seasoning. Brioche bun, no sesames, good quality streaky bacon, medium-strong slab of cheddar, avocado, gherkins, mustard, mayo, ketchup. Sensational homemade chips and onion rings (both, also, the best I've ever had). I have now reached burger nirvana - can't imagine I'll ever have a better one. Which is sad.

Is it? Sad? I like when things like that happen. I can still taste the best pigeon I ever had and I still remember that evening. Celebrate it and enjoy your future burgers for other reasons.

The very last of the mustard greens from the garden, with gnocchi.

Beautiful. That's a healthy dose of lemon zest!
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

I love it with any of those bitter greens.

    I love the tangy.

    Lemons, cranberries, lingonberries, grapefruit, anything.

I like to keep fresh squeezed frozen lemon and lime juice on hand. I put it into those little individual take out cups like salad dressing comes in. I can drop one or two into a glass of club soda, or use them when cooking.

This morning, I'll have cranberry pancakes. They look like pancakes, but with cranberries in ''em..

So, that new poke place I tried today ended in projectile vomiting. I'm going to go ahead and not recommend Poke Bowl on 2nd Street.

Yeah, maybe not a good review on Yelp I'm thinking. Sorry to hear that. I tend to assume that raw things are safe if the restaurant knows what they are doing. Maybe it's that last bit about skill that divides the good from the bad...
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
