I'm down in 'Nawlins for my annual cap on the golf season, and literally find it hard to walk due to food overload. I love southern fare.

A very noteworthy shrimp and grits was one of the... many courses I had between 4 restaurants today. The green is a sage pesto that had good flavour, but the texture was so smooth and luxurious, is basically just disappeared on the tongue. Divine.

Another staple at Chez Hank: risotto. It is usually MIlanese, asparagus, mushroom or this, asparagus/mushroom.

I have two loaves of cranberry nut bread in the oven.
For dinner tonight, a 1 -1/2" thick strip steak which I'll freeze for about an hour just prior to cooking, so it won't be overdone . Oven roasted New potatoes and a small salad to accompany.

Mrs. K's father was too short to be accepted by the RCAF, but the RAF was more than happy to have him. After training in the Commonwealth Air Training Program he married Mrs. K's mother and then went to England. He flew two and a half tours in Wellingtons and Lancasters, won the DFC and narrowly escaped death several times. When he returned he could no longer safely be a barber, but went on to enjoy a happy and productive life in another field. While in England this little prairie Norwegian gained a fondness for a few classic English meals. Every Remembrance Day , or close to it, we have something like this:

Pot roast, root veg, Yorkshire pud and mushroom gravy. A really nice BC merlot, too.

You do your pudding in muffin wrappers? Is that what I'm seeing?

I don't know that technique, but they look great.
