My gear isn't. Never bothered me much. But then again, the faster I go, the drier I stay.

Part of the curb was sticking out and I didn't see it on a sharp turn (late at night). Most of the money I saved up for new coilovers is now gonna go into fixing this

    50m only. Barely hand washing.

Well that could be the shortest biking career ever. My missus works in Brighton and I now do too with my new job. I bought the bike as parking is free whereas the car isn't. My missus has commandeered lifts from me on Mondays and Tuesdays instead of her getting the bus - she pays for the parking. But that's 40% of my week - the bike and insurance monthly costs more. Getting rid of the bike and parking every day on a season ticket would be cheaper.

To be fair the bike is a right faff - especially if I have a meeting and need my suit, and want to go to the gym after work (there's only so much a rucksack can hold). Maybe when I'm richer I can get one for the weekend cos they're much fun.

The good news is I can probably look at upgrading the car again.

    I haven't decided 100% but it's looking likely.

It's always good to have a bike in the carport but not if its a financial burden (same with anything). Keep your license current - or however it works there - and get back into it when it suits your circumstances better. NO-ONE has ever been a motorcyclist, gotten rid of their bike for one reason or another, and never come back to it!

Yeah the bike is on finance (standard geoffbot) at £100 a month plus 30 a month insurance so it would have to go. I'll still keep all my gear (I can't legally resell my £170 helmet) and do my full test so I'm good to go when I want.
