Thanks Alan, it was quite a day. Perfect weather finally after an extremely hot summer. I even got pulled over but the police (informally), but they just wanted to see the car

From Auto Week Daily and the Paris show. I always love these kind of pictures in a $80K SUV.

I'm a bit mixed on the new Discovery Michael (as a current LR4 owner)...love the Land Rover Brand and really enjoy the off-road capabilities of our current LR4 (tons of capability on and off-road).

There are features of our LR4 (including the more squared-off styling of our current LR4), but I do appreciate the pile of driver's safety aids that have been added and I'm warming up to the new, more aerodynamic styling of the new Discovery. I'm also looking forward to seeing what they offer with the new Defender line (targeted for the 2018 timeframe), as it is supposed to maintain the more beefy and squared-off look of the classic Land Rovers.

I can definitely see missing the old squared off Land Rover look--but despite modernizing, Land Rover (outside of the Evoque) has been able to keep up the nobility of design that came with the old shape cars. I'm really in love with the Discovery. I was looking at a Discovery Sport, but until that gets the new engine and transmission, this is faster and more practical, and not that much more expensive. A Discovery HSE is $56K, and has basically everything you'd need.

Just rode my bike home from the shop in the pouring rain. Wasn't that fun. But, at least my gear is waterproof.
