Best mashed potatoes on earth are skin-on redskins with roasted garlic and sour cream.

Wood roasted turkey breast marinated in home made (Mexican) adobo sauce, smashed pan fried plantains and sauteed veg.

A tagine of merguez, kabocha and apricot, as well as all the other usual things. Washing it down with a BC rosé.

I grilled 150 hamburgers, salmon burgers, vegan burgers and hot dogs for our neighborhood gathering, no pictures to show, alas, because I was too busy grilling. Our city gives grants to neighborhoods that organize in order to help people get to know each other in a quickly growing region, trying to reduce anonymity and help people pull together in case of an emergency (we live in earthquake country, for example.) Somehow I let myself get pushed into the "president of neighborhood association" role which means I volunteer for a lotta grilling for events that I organize. Sunburnt and smelling of smoke... time for a glass of wine.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
