so had decide to say sod it and do windows ten that I have been putting off ..

was hoping to see the sign appear in my task bar like it did before but so far no show and when I went to the Microsoft site they want to sell me the windows 10
yeah, there was a cut off date for the freebie, not sure if it was june or july! I tried to install it 5 times and it failed at 95% each time!

can you p.m the link to see if I can get it to work for me ...

think the upgrade should be free but if you buy a new p.c then it should cost you ..

as they are forcing every one to go to 10 whether you want to or not they should not be able to profit from that ... so upgrade should be free ... and they never said it was limited time frame when they tried to get me to go for it they should have been more notice

there is no link, it's not free now. when I signed up for it on my pc it said it would be free for a limited time. the time is now gone and the upgrade link on my toolbar has gone too
they can't force anyone to go to win10, just they aren't supporting any older versions i.e. updates, not sure if that includes win7/win8

well they are because if they are not supporting the system we bought they will fail over time .. as they are not supporting them so they are making you up grade think it is wrong as looking it to it since the free upgrade has finish a lot of peoples systems are starting to faulty mine did seems a bit to coincidental to me ... not every one can afford a ton to update there system and how long before it upgrades again think there should be a system in play controlling Microsoft actions

but they aren't!, you can keep win8/7 or whatever for as long as you like, you can always do a factory reset to sort any problems, I don't see the problem, they offered it free for maybe a year. there was a time when you had to go to a shop to buy the disc for around £100 or use an illegal copy.

but they will not be supporting windows 7 so that mean it will be come less secure over time as they will not be patching it checking for virus for it and when the other programs update you will have issues with using software on it as it becomes obsolete it basic told me when I restored mine there will be no support for it as they was not using the system now .. think about it can you use windows 98 on anything now no what was before windows seven ? bet there is not a lot of systems that can support or work with it now ?

I know what you mean but I never do any upgrades to win8, use my own virus and security software. all the old stuff stopped being supported so what did we have to do, go and buy/steal vista etc etc, there's no difference now, old stuff isn't supported, we have to buy win10. the difference is that they offered it free for a hell of a lot of people I betting b4 the deadline. use the link and get it for free,

yeah think as I was chatting to a couple of people that if they keep the upgrade as free but charge for windows 10 it would be fair so buying a new comp then yes you buy the windows pack have done that for years or built my own then just bought the latest pack ..

think about it you buy a new say laptop there loads still out there on windows 8 how long before that is unsupported think if you have an existing window pack the new one should be a free upgrade as they are always updating anyway so what so different it was free from 7 in to 8 so why not into ten

but yes a looking in to it they did give a good period of time but hmmm a lot of people was put of with the glitches in the system to start with I was so thought wait and see how it goes seen some threads with people having right problems .. if I knew there was a time frame think I would have left it to the last week to do hoping the glitches would be fixed as I knew mine was playing up think I even said when it goes I would do the upgrade and well it went but missed the deadline as did not know there was one
