This little test supposedly can indicate how long you will live.
What BS.
I must already be dead.
OK, I could sit with no hands, but I needed one hand assistance to get back up.
See if you're already dead too.

I saw a TV show about this study recently and it indicated that you start with 10 points and subtract one each time that you need to use your hands to steady yourself. 8+ was good, and anything under indicated an increased liklihood of death in the coming years. The initial testing was also done with older people if I recall - at least 50s and up. So I guess if someone is much younger and can't do this, they're even in bigger trouble.
It makes sense, I suppose. You're dealing with issues of balance, as well strength in your core and largest muscle groups. Those who don't have these things are likely to be unhealthier overall than someone who does.

Working out when sore. What say you? I'm working out hard enough that I'm consistently sore the day after. But I've found that if I work out the same muscles again that next day, sore as I am, I can still perform pretty well. Am I not working hard enough? (but I would think the soreness is a sign of successful working out, no?) Anyhoo, how important is rest for muscle growth? Can you harm growth with too much of a good thing?
