I had porridge earlier but didn't take a picture as porridge isn't very photogenic. I never ever used to eat it but it's a nice healthy snack now.

I'm a big stand-up fan, and there is an English comedian that has a bit on porridge, incredulous at the notification on the box that there is 'no added colours'. "But it's grey... am I to suspect that perhaps you are adding in extra grey?"

Yeah probably better than what I've eaten every single morning for the past 10 years - 3 eggs on (not insubstantially buttered) toast.

Three of my favourite basic ingredients are Fatty fish, lentils and bitter greens, in no particular order. When the fish is halibut or salmon, the lentils are cannellini beans and the greens are mustard and/or arugula the combination can be magical.

Geoff is correct. It is a portion of hallibut, pan fried in a cast iron skillet.
