    Nailed it.

The thing is that he finally put money into the club but even with all the money he spent, the club was so bare of quality that they could patch it over. They bought to many players with potential when they needed players for the now and they completely failed to do much about the biggest problem with the team defense. Add to that poor choice of coach and taking too long to fire said coach plus plenty of bad luck with injuries and you get relegated. I mean seriously I saw an article a couple months ago that said Newcastle made up 11% of the injury time in the entire Premier League. How many teams lose both their starting goalies to season ending knee injuries? Although keeper has been the least of our worries. Elliot was player of the season until getting injured and Darlow has done well since coming in. Also Dummett missing so many games has really hurt us. He is absolute crap going forward (cause he is a centerback being played at right back) but our defense is so much better with him. But luck doesn't excuse the number of poor choices to personal in the upper offices he has made or the lack of investment previous to this season.

There is the quality in the club to straight back up even losing players. I believe we will if we keep Benitez but with the Everton job open, I doubt we will keep him. The buzz seems to be that he will stay if he gets full control of transfers. I hope they give him control partly so he will stay and partly because well he can't do worse then Carr and Charnley have done.

His attitude at both Newcastle and Hull says at you need to know about Ben Arfa. He has talent in spades but he doesn't have the attitude to become a great player.

Apparently he's doing the work now. A little late, but 17 goals and 5 assists from a CAM/CF position is pretty impressive.

And now it's official, Quique Sanchez Flores will be replaced at Watford.

The reason - essentially that his tactics were too safe and constrained, even to the point of not selecting more adventurous players that he brought to the club.

A great shame. QSF was a very likeable and notably dignified man.

It is a shame. Plus, he looked like he came right out of the pages of GQ. He is one stylish fellow.

Since the regular season is over and there are really only two matches left that matter, I'm going to turn my attention to my FIFA Career Mode. I started a new one recently with Liverpool, of course. Trying to focus on bringing in quality young players that I can have grow as a part of my team. Breel Embolo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jack Grealish, Nathan Redmond, Wilfred Zaha, Memphis Depay, Kurt Zouma, Marc Bartra, and my latest acquisition, Leroy Sane (whom I got in a swap deal for James Milner; 10 years between them). I might have to move out Grealish, who isn't performing very well for me and doesn't have the stamina to last more than 60 minutes, and he's not growing, but I'm looking forward to these guys, and my other young players, Ings, Origi, Ibe, and Flanagan really grow into a great Liverpool team.

I also would love for Klopp to get a player like Sane or Embolo. I wonder if Pep will put Iheanacho up for sale; I don't know much about his tendency to develop young players, but he seems to go for big name stars.
