The answer might be different here in the US, because that amount here in dollars (call it $400,000) will get you a new Ferrari or McLaren (one of which would be my choice). I suspect they might cost quite a bit more in the UK.

This answers Geoff's question if it's new. V8 Vantage Roadster has been my "lottery car" for a long time. Used to be the 911 Turbo Cabriolet, but as my affinity for two-seat sports cars grew, and Aston's devotion to the manual deepened, my love for the Aston V8 became cemented.

    Used I'd go for a BMW Z8, I think.

Pouring rain here today, else I'd be enjoying some top down driving. I need to get a birthday present for my not-uncle.

Mine has the automated manual, so I'm pretty sure Raza would turn his nose up at it. Unless it were offered to him free of charge, then we'd see just how strong his resolve is.

    P.S. No, I'm not offering...

A bit like watches, I probably wouldn't buy anything exotic at all. The more exotic cars wouldn't really suit me, practically or otherwise, so I might just consider a new E-Class rather than a used C-Class.

Asked the same question when younger I might have been more adventurous, but I've never been keen on standing out from the crowd.
