It's a short crust pastry pie, essentially, filled typically with meat and potatoes (though cheese and mushroom and/or chicken are standard now) though shaped like this, for easier eating

The important element is its portability: the contents are safely stowed and then you get to eat the luggage too

    Cranberry Bread is my favorite.
We made twelve loaves, though smaller for T-day and company consumed all but two.

Usually sold at sporting events and scenes of civil unrest by CMOT Dibbler, or his like, worldwide.

It was made from ingredients we had lying around, They were sweet red onions, marinated in sweet soja Sauce (ketjap) Wine Vinegar and Ginger Paste. Quite easy actually

I fixed my own breakfast this morning. It's raining too hard to go out.
Scrambled cackle fruit with Black Forest ham, onions, cheddar cheese, white pepper, and oregano. Topped with jalapenos.
Cranberry bread, bacon, and Gevalia Columbian Roast coffee.

very clichéd but even my Chinese friends are surprised that when I say I'm going to make dumpling, I really do make dumplings.

ok... it's not that easy to come across but these are scratch made using high gluten flour for the wrap and a combo of pork cheek and shoulder+greens (and garlic+hinger) for the filling. For British Born Chinese of my generation and it seems HK born too, making dumplings usually means opening a bag.

I can never get my head around american bacon, so thin and too crispy. Why?

I think American bacon, after all of the hype around it, has been one of my food disappointments.
