Ha! Well, he studied hard in school, went to uni, became a successful architect and lives tax free in Dubai; I smoked too much weed in school, left at 16, stayed in the same job way too long, and am a salesman living in tax hell.

And this forum isn't yet the retirement plan I need it to be!

This born-and-bred red-blooded Torontonian can and will also attest to what a great city Philly is. i go every year and have never had a bad experience. I fly in again 1st week of April and I'm already sorting out where to eat and drink. I have a few favourite haunts, and I always like to try new things. I have not been to Morimoto's in 2 years, I think I need to correct that but I also want o try somewhere new.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

Though you should try Philadelphia again. Much has changed in the last 20 years. My neighborhood that I currently live in, for instance, was a warzone 20 years ago. Now it's one of the most up and coming neighborhoods with highly sought after homes and apartments being built. The foodie scene here is basically second only to New York. And cost of living is still pretty affordable, especially compared to NY and SF. The only thing this city doesn't have is great Mexican. There's some good Mexican, but not great. Great Cuban, though.

I love this city. Can't see myself moving away for a very long time. The only other cities that I've been to that make me feel like I could live there some day are San Francisco and Los Angeles.

I'll work towards seeing it again. I still have a couple of friends living on the Hwy 100 corridor north of Pottsown. But as for foodies, I am pleased with Atlanta. It is fine enough to keep me from traveling elsewhere.

No pictures but we went out to one of the better, maybe the best, steak houses in town last night. My wife had seared scallops in a caviar butter sauce followed by wild boar tenderloin with celeriac mash and an orange mulled wine sauce. I had balsamic glazed chicken livers, rack of lamb with a salt crust roasted turnip and cardamom, pistachio and cinnamon reduction. We both had glazed root vegetables.

We drank a Te Mania 2009 reserve pinot noir with the main course.

It was delicious. Since we don't really do dessert it was brandy, then scotch. Remy Martin VSOP for the brandy and Sprinbank 15 year old for the scotch.

Excellent choice Henry. One of the best Pinot's out there.

Jerk pork chop, rice and beans fried plantain and salad with a dressing based on Jamaican mustard and scotch bonnet hot sauce. Considering the Jamaican rule that the jerk coating should be 70% burnt, I might have left the pork on the fire for another minute. It was moist and delicious anyway.
