Nice! Can't wait to get mine out of storage, but there's no point before April. :-(

I can't believe we have two Elise owners on this watch forum. On my car forum, it seems to be dominated by fiscal conservatives with sensible midsize luxury sedans or younger kids with little money for anything cool. A few MX-5s, an S2000, and my Z4. That's really it. I don't even think we have a WRX owner anymore. The one guy had to sell his.

This one guy, older, wealthy, he views every dollar spent as another day he has to work before he can retire. Wears a $300 quartz BMW watch! I don't get it. Why work so hard and make so much money if you don't even enjoy it?

I don't know. Although if he's actually wealthy, he wouldn't be counting the days he has to work until he can retire. My definition of "wealthy" means either you inherited money and don't need to work, or you've made enough money that you no longer need to work for that reason, and either are retired or working for reasons other than needing to save more money to retire. My wife and I come from modest backgrounds, and have been very fortunate financially. But that's partially because we've never lived extravagantly (comfortably, certainly, but not extravagantly), and don't have any debt. Money that I spend on watches only comes from my "mad money" fund, money that isn't needed towards retirement or other expenses--both Mrs. Cor and I have funds like that. She saves hers, though.
