I'm so relieved...
I won't want to spend money on the to-be-introduced new VC chrono to be announced on Monday. Why oh why would VC design a brand new chrono movement, create beautifully symmetrical subdials, and then cram a sideways date window in at 4:30?? You all know how much I dislike those. Couldn't they do this in a way that didn't destroy the otherwise lovely symmetry of the dial. Maybe I'll look for the older model once they start discounting it...

I have a more fundamental problem with the Overseas - I can't accommodate the Maltese cross being worked into the bezel. It looks like something to twist, and since it's not, it looks, I don't know... discontinuous.
When I'm rich I'll try to get over this aversion.

Get one of the older models, while you can.
You know how much I hate date windows, but the big date @ 12h implemented on the previous model was extremely well integrated. I tried one on, when my former watchmaker was working on the watch (routine service) and I was really impressed. The bracelet was/is by far the most comfortable I've ever tried and the watch...oh well...

It's on the list, but not for this year. I only do one really big purchase per year, and I have a different goal for 2016. That watch looks so much nicer in person than in any pictures I've seen. I suspect there will be examples available, both new and lightly used, for several years. Especially since if they're showing the new ones next week, who knows when they'll actually hit stores...

Shouldn't the Chrono hand line up with the 60 marker?

I don't know why anyone would want to have such a series of beautiful surfaces and then seemingly design a part specifically to collect crud that you can't wipe/polish without recourse to a cabinet full of specialised instruments.

A toothbrush will do nicely.
I tried this on fall before last, and immediately went out and bought a lottery ticket. Alas, it was not a winner.
