Congrats to City. All in all the better team today. Pool got better as the game went on, but not enough. Henderson's been terrible since he returned from injury. Migs saved us after his first blunder.
Penalties were not great after Can. The last 3 City ones just how you do it.

No-one interested in Man. United and Rashford scoring four goals in three days, then?
Much more interesting than the League Cup.

in short -no !!! however we did the business despite being denied a blatant penalty - brilliant !!!btw its strange that the League Cup is always made light of when you don't win it

Everybody makes light of the League Cup - winners and losers alike. It's not quite as redundant as the Charity Shield, but it's getting that way.
You and I will remember its earlier days when it was an opportunity for smaller clubs to have a day out at Wembley. Bigger clubs didn't enter it. It took advantage of the introduction of floodlights and was an example of the League being parochial in the face of the growing importance of European competitions. It was also an example of the tensions between the League and the FA. It was contentious from the outset and has never lost the association of being a consolation cup.
Naturally, if you find yourself in the final you want to win it, and winning is always an achievement.
All the same, we shouldn't be talking about the wisdom of FA Cup replays before considering the abolition of the League Cup.
