Very nice HK! Does take some b*lls or gusto IMHO. If I spent that much effort as you did on that potato bread, I would be using store bought on the croutons. That potato bread would go straight into my belly with perhaps some lightly salted butter.

    But that is me!

    Very nice,

    Dan

PS -- the cat gets nothing! Well, my three do not. My current ones whine. I'd hate to think what it would sound if they expected a table scrap.

The great thing about the potato bread is that it turns out to be a two pound loaf, so half is for eating and half for the cioppino.

Our cats don't get scraps either. But thy are ever hpeful.

I coat both sides of mine with kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper medley (black, white, pink, green) and then sear the sh*t out of them in a piping hot pan. Add cheese to the top after flipping and place directly from the skillet onto a butter, toasted bun.

Thin patties are definitely the way to go. Sometimes I like a big meatball, but not on a bun.

No offense to those who like this sort of thing, and I know a few...

Mine are nowhere near that thick. Mine are just thick enough to enjoy the three different textures, but it would eb a pretty boring place if everybody all like the same thing.

Mine probably fall pretty close to Raza's middle ground.

I actually will do both, thin and medium. I do the medium when I want a smoked burger, rubbed down and smoked indirect at 225-250 in whatever wood I feel like, mesquite, apple, pecan, etc.

I really don't have a huge preference either way, but my wife hates thick hamburger patties. Happy wife, happy... well you know how it goes.
