Love this question. I'll have to qualify this by figuring that I'd be buying a bigger house, with a bigger garage. Let's say spots for 5 vehicles:

    Classics:
    1. Jaguar E-Type Cabriolet. Budget $120 000 for one in nicely restored shape, but rough enough around the edges to allow me to drive it without too much concern. Ideally a series 1.
    2. 1967-1968 Shelby Mustang GT350. To my mind and eye, the best expression of the Mustang ever made. Figure another $150 000 to get the condition, year, color etc. I want.

    Modern:
    1. Volvo XC70. Nicely loaded up. Probably one of the best vehicles for my lifestyle. Enough room for dive gear, kayaks, photography stuff, camping, etc. But with respectable handling dynamics and wagon styling. Budget maybe $60 000.
    2. Mazda Miata. I wouldn't want anything more in a sports car. Fun. Light. Efficient. $35 000.
    3. Tesla Model S. I'd want to invest in all electric technology. This could be the car - gives good range. Good performance. But I'd probably make the judgment call when I had the money. Could be any number of vehicles that fit the bill. Budgeting $120 000.

I guess that'd be it... guess I'd be looking to spend about $500 000 CND.

I'd have to find a way of getting it off them without them noticing first..... Any idea's?

    Hmm.

    1. '60's Corvette Stingray convertible.
    2. Jaguar E-Type roadster. Plus a full time mechanic to keep it running.
    3. Ferrari Dino.
    4. Ferrari 488 Spyder.
    5. McLaren P1.

I'd keep the Lotus for track days, of course.

It wasn't that cold, so I was surprised. Like 23-24F. That's -5 to you weirdos.

    My four Ferraris:

    1: 308 GTB (show car)
    2: F355 (weekend car)
    3: 458 Speciale (track car)
4: 488 Spyder - like mlcor (daily driver)

Hell, throw in a Dino, why not?

    And my Lotus stays too!

    1. BMW Z8 (daily driver)
    2. Ferrari Daytona Coupe (classic cruiser)
    3. Mitsubishi Evo X GSR (foul weather/grocery getter/life is a rally stage)
    4. Audi R8 V10 Spyder (for when it's slick outside, but still convertible weather; I generally prefer the V8 to the V10, because of overheating problems with the V10, but oh well) OR 997 911 Turbo cabriolet (which would then also be a road trip car) OR 991 911 Targa S
    5. Land Rover Range Rover Sport (for hauling, kayaking, et al)

All with a manual transmission, of course, except for the Range Rover, which doesn't offer one. Honestly can't decide with #4. R8 has some overlap with the Z8, the 997 Turbo Cab is one of my favorite cars, but the 991 Targa's automated roof is a work of art and genius.

    A 458 and a 488? Why!?

Personally, I think the last mid-engine Ferrari worth owning is the 430. The new ones are just ugly rolling computers. Of the current Ferrari lineup, I only really like the California (although I think they dropped the manual with the new, better looking T model) and the 612.

The last time I can honestly say I really loved Ferrari's line up was when the 360, the 550 and the 456 were all in it together. So, I guess the early 2000s.
