And my wife has a kaki field watch since more than 8 years ago. So I started by buying the SNK809 with black canvas strap. Then got a SKX007J with rubber strap. Then got a Sumo. Then a Sea Urchin. Like the OP I went into the GS boutique when I was in Tokyo last week. The first one closed. It was 10 minutes before the next one closes. So I ran one street to the next one. And came out with the SBGR097. It was love at first sight when I saw the reviews on the ABTW site. And timeless luxury website. I knew I like it. I just needed to see it for myself because my local dealership doesn't have one. So in 6 months or less. I amassed a couple of Seiko. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying the GS Quartz diver as well. Lol.

Thanks. Do I need to show the other watches I mentioned? Seems like a validation process. Haha.

Nice way to make an introduction! Save the rest for the WRUW threads on the central forum. Always fun!

Thanks everyone. And to add. The SBGR097. My #236/500. Is a very low profile. Very subtle watch. The blue in reality is the Seiko blue. The blue you see on the box. On the little cushion the watch rest on inside the box. The repeated GS geometric pattern is very unnoticeable. It probably only seen in a certain (one angle) way. Otherwise it just looks blue. And the funny thing is when I was in the boutique I almost thought they showed me the wrong watch. I couldn't see the patten inside the shop under those lights. The watch is very nicely weighted. Though its 42mm. When I look at it from pictures. I like it. When I look at it in reality I like it more. When I wear it. I love it!!! You don't feel like it's on your wrist. Though I must having owned a couple. The bracelets of all models are different. The same 1-2 links during sizing is not the same. And I'm lucky the bracelet on the watch matched my wrist perfectly. Can't say the same for my sumo. In the end I added one more link and shortened the fine adjustment to fit. And there's a slight jutting out. Asymmetrically. Not sure if I described it accurately. I'm not just new to the forum. I'm very new to watches too. Although I have been wearing one since very young. Thanks for reading my posts.
