I had a terrible martini yesterday - not mixed enough so not cold, a slice of lemon (yes a SLICE!) and 2 straws in the glass?! And also it was full to the brim - 5/6 shots. Now of late I've complained of being served ones too small in marine antoinette nipple glasses that fit about 2.5 shots but this was a monster! At least it was only a tenner which is cheap for a 5* hotel.

I remember once getting a Margarita to come out ok, but decided it was an awful lot of faffing around. Rather have a slammer and a beer.
Yes, the effort v outcome equation is high on cocktails.
Plus they've led to some of my worst hangovers eg after a Sunday afternoon playing Trivial Pursuit and drinking B-52s

LoL! I drink negronis when I need to my consumption of martinis. I like them way too much especially when I stuff the olives.
