Thread: Boctok vs Wostok

    Boctok vs Wostok

I'm new to the Vostok brand. On these watches I see the name spelt either wostok or boctok. What's the difference other than the spelling?

Also I see a Vostok Europe brand which I assume has got nothing to do with the Russian Vostok, or does it?

yeah it has it busy periods and it's quiet but it has a lot of info threads about movement.. makes.. style .. list of good places to buy a wruw and a chat thread to chat about all things Russian should have most things explain there as well as a few reviews of new watches and a few gallery covering most of the brands from slava to luch and vostok to zim and all things in between

    Welcome to the russkies mate

Vostok ( East in Russian ) name for global , Boctok home market ( Russian spelling ) Wostok afaik for the German market.

Vostok Europe was a joint venture between the works and Koliz

    http://www.vostok-europe.com/about-us/

VE design with Vostok power inside, still unsure myself whether the first models were made at Chistopol. When Vostok went bump and the supply was in doubt VE sourced other movements, yet still kept the name, guess Koliz doesn't sound the same
Now they are using some Vostok movements again.

Cheers mate, and please post piccies of your chosen one ....or two....or ...
