Funny how head-on you can mostly hear the whining of the super-charger, it's only once it's passed that you get to hear the growl of the V8.

I have to be honest. I like the last generation Mustang better. When the new one was about to come out, I saw the pictures and thought that is a cool looking car but seeing it in metal I am not a fan. I also kinda don't like they went away from the good old live axle. It just feels like they tried to make the Mustang more European but the Mustang is supposed to be 'Merican.

OF coarse I think the only way to buy the Mustang is with that wonderful 5.0 liter up front. The Ford V8 is pretty much on of the best sounding non-exotic motors out there.

I think that Boss 302 or the modern Shelby GT500 is the Mustang I'd most want to own. The old ones look cool but holy crap they handle like trucks.

Any other options? £20k limit new or maybe £13k preowned - must be fast and have 4 seats.

To be fair , it's prob not 20K new, nor 13K s/h, nor will it have four seats .....shit off a hot shovel will be slower though

I just came to this thread to post that I saw one of those this morning a block from my house. That would certainly be an entertaining option.

I have actually loathed all Mustangs since the early 70s... until the new one. It actually looks good again.

A buddy of mine bought a 5.0 with the stick and sport package, it was fun to drive. But he didn't get 500 miles on it before he dropped a Roush supercharger and exhaust on it, dealer installed fully warranted. Now it makes about 630hp or so at the crank. It's a blast to drive.

Pretty sure I'm gonna buy a polo gti again. Youtube videos have it doing 0-100kph is 6.2 which is fast enough. Test drive in a few weeks when they have it in.

Yes, it is! I've driven a Mazda Speed and holy smokes, it handles like a 3 series Bimmer, and even a bit more agile as it's not as heavy.

Geoff....take a look at the 3 MPS if you like a "drivers car" as it seems you do.
