    That's exactly how it works for me. I have a CO2 allowance and get back £1 per month per g, I think, under that and pay £1 per month for every g over.
    My current car, a VW Tiguan gets me £1 per month back but the new one, a VW Passat, will get me £18 per month despite the engine being more powerful.
    Sadly, the revised Tiguan with the new engine isn't due out until next year.
