What year is the E60? Is it the model before the crazy central info system?

iDrive? No, it has it. Second iteration with redundant controls for often used functions.

I think the E39 was the last series before iDrive came out. I've owned 5 and 6 series BMW cars with iDrive and don't mind it, even in it's original form. The facelifted (2010+) models are much better, with redundant controls (as Raza mentioned) for the frequently accessed features.

Awesome, good luck! It's been about 15yrs since I autox'd, but I ran my Firebird in F stock, ESP and ... some crazy open class once I rebuilt the motor and went crazy with mods.
